Temperature dependence of the indentation size effect
نویسندگان
چکیده
The influence of temperature on the indentation size effect is explored experimentally. Copper is indented on a custom-built high-temperature nanoindenter, at temperatures between ambient and 200 0C, in an inert atmosphere that precludes oxidation. Over this range of temperatures, the size effect is reduced considerably, suggesting that thermal activation plays a major role in determining the length scale for plasticity.

Atomic Simulation of Temperature Effect on the Mechanical Properties of Thin Films
The molecular dynamic technique was used to simulate the nano-indentation test on the thin films of silver, titanium, aluminum and copper which were coated on the silicone substrate. The mechanical properties of the selected thin films were studied in terms of the temperature. The temperature was changed from 193 K to 793 K with an increment of 100 K. To investigate the effect of temperature on...

We have studied the effect of precursor powder size on the microstructure and intergranular behavior of polycrystalline Bi2223 superconductors using the XRD, SEM, electrical resistivity and AC susceptibility techniques. Polycrystalline Bi2223 superconductors were prepared from the powders with different milling times. The XRD results show that by decreasing the precursor powder size the Bi2223...
